A coked-out banana with a stanky leg was not on my bingo card when I sat down at my desk to review the newest slot from Hacksaw Gaming. I mean, why would it be? How high would I have to be to come up with a premise like that? I don’t know what is in the water at Hacksaw but whatever it is, it must be real good.

The FRKN Bananas slot, and yeah, chef’s kiss for that name, features 19 paylines spread across a 5×3 reel grid. The slot has all the surreal insanity that one would expect from its premise and a few themed bonus features to spice things up. Is it any good, though?

Betting on the FRKN Bananas slot starts at just $0.10, with a maximum limit of $35. If you’re betting at the maximum level, you could win up to $350,000, thanks to the 10,000x maximum multiplier. The slot has medium to high volatility, delivering less frequent wins but offering a chance at significant payouts. The RTP is 96.31%.

The Banana Spread feature will see banana symbols point either upwards or to the left when they land. Each time a Spreading Banana appears, additional symbols extend from it toward the edge of the grid in the indicated direction. This spreading only takes place if the newly placed symbols would contribute to at least one winning combination. All Spreading Bananas act as wild multipliers, substituting for standard pay symbols and displaying multiplier values that range from x1 to x100. If two or more Spreading Bananas overlap on a single position, their multipliers are combined.

The Bananza feature begins when three FS scatter symbols appear in the base game, awarding 10 free spins. The mechanics in this round are consistent with the base game, though the likelihood of landing high-value Spreading Bananas increases. Additional free spins can be earned by landing more FS scatter symbols, with two scatters awarding an extra two spins and four scatters adding four more.

The Banana Blitz feature is triggered when four FS scatter symbols land in the base game, initiating 10 free spins. During this round, Sticky Banana symbols and Go Bananas symbols can appear. Sticky Bananas remain fixed in place until the end of the bonus round and receive a new random multiplier value between x1 and x100 on each spin. If a Go Bananas symbol appears while Sticky Bananas are present, the Go Bananas mechanic activates, assigning a number between three and 10 to represent the count of Banana copies generated from each Sticky Banana on the reels.

The slot’s bonus features offer several options, from increasing your chances of unlocking a bonus feature to directly purchasing one.

Is the FRKN Bananas slot f**ked or fantastic?

The premise of the FRKN Bananas slot might be a little insane but it delivers some serious gameplay thanks to some great graphics and engaging bonus features. The slot builds on the Gooey Wilds feature from Donut Division, adding vertical spreading alongside horizontal spreading, allowing wild multipliers to stack and combine for even bigger potential wins. The Banana Blitz! round cranks the action up further, with bananas cascading onto the grid and stacking on top of each other to amplify multiplier values. I give the FRKN Bananas slot a nine out of ten.

If you’re looking for a few other great Hacksaw slots to try out, I recommend Klowns and Densho.
