Yuga Labs, creators of the Bored Ape universe, just sent a shot across the bow of the NFT space.Β
Well, mainly across the bow of OpenSea.Β
With no love lost for OpenSeaβs royalty-optional approach, Yuga just blocked its new Legends of the Mara collection from trading on Blur, LooksRare, Sudoswap V1, and yes, Opensea.Β
Blur and the others are used to being blocked by collections at this point, thanks to the now-sunset Operator Filter, but itβs the most high-profile stiff arm yet for OpenSea in this regard.Β
Will the move lead to wider change? Thereβs no telling at this point, but in the very least, Yugaβs made a rallying cry that will resonate with many NFT creatives: support NFT royalties, or lose our support.Β
