Jesse James and his gang didn’t rob trains like a bunch of drunk cowboys—they ran it like a business, just with more gunpowder and fewer morals. They knew the schedules, had inside men, and hit payroll cars with the precision of a surgeon who didn’t give a damn about the Hippocratic Oath. They’d board the train, guns drawn, and politely relieve passengers of their valuables before blowing the safe and riding off like they owned the place.

While the gang from the new Thunderkick game The Wildos 2 slot doesn’t seem to be in the same league as Jesse James, with that 10,000x max multiplier, their heists might just be just as lucrative—minus the shootouts and the risk of getting backstabbed by a guy named Ford.

Saddle up and chase down a train!

The Wildos 2 slot from Thunderkick is played on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines. Betting starts at just $0.10, with a maximum limit of $20. If you’re betting at the upper limit, you could win up to $200,000, thanks to the 10,000x maximum multiplier. The slot has high volatility, meaning wins can be infrequent but have the potential to be significant. The RTP is 94.19%.

Multiplier Wilds can appear on reels 2, 3, and 4, substituting for all symbols except other wilds and scatters. These wilds reveal random multipliers, which may be Bronze (x1, x2, or x3), Silver (x5, x6, or x8), or Gold (x10, x15, or x25). If multiple multipliers land in a single spin, their values are added together.

Triggering the Bounty Poster Feature requires landing a Wildo poster symbol, which activates one of three possible modifiers. The Green Wildo Poster symbol adds 1 to 4 Bronze Wilds, the Blue Wildo Poster symbol adds 1 to 5 Silver Wilds, and the Red Wildo Poster symbol adds 1 to 5 Gold Wilds on reels 2-4. Scatter symbols remain unaffected. Higher-value wild symbols can upgrade lower-value wilds, but not the reverse. Once the feature ends, Bounty Poster symbols act as the corresponding high-pay symbols and cannot be covered by the wilds added during the feature.

The bonus game is triggered by landing three scatter symbols, providing four choices. The Bronze Bonus offers 12 free spins, the Silver Bonus grants 9 free spins, and the Gold Bonus includes 6 free spins. A Random Bonus option awards 6, 9, or 12 free spins with a chance of unlocking the Super Bonus. During free spins, all wild types can land, but only the selected type remains sticky. If you activate the Super Bonus, 12 free spins are awarded, with all wilds becoming sticky. Bounty Poster symbols can land during free spins but only trigger if an upgrade or free wild position is available. If a higher-value wild lands on an existing lower-value wild, it temporarily takes precedence before reverting on the next spin, unless this occurs in the Super Bonus, where upgrades persist. Additional free spins are granted when reels 2, 3, or 4 are filled with Sticky Wilds, awarding one-third of the original free spins per filled reel.

The Super Bonus can be triggered in two ways: by landing two regular scatters alongside a super scatter in the base game or by selecting the Random Bonus option during bonus game selection. If the Super Bonus is won in the base game, the selection screen is bypassed, and the round begins immediately.

There are two Bet+ options that increase the chance of triggering a bonus round. The Bonus Boost doubles the probability of landing a bonus for 1.5x the bet per spin, while the Bonus Boost Plus increases the chance fivefold for 3x the bet. The feature buy menu provides additional options, allowing you to purchase a Random Bonus, Bronze Wild Bonus, Silver Wild Bonus, or Gold Wild Bonus for 100x the bet. The Super Bonus is also available for direct purchase at 500x the bet.

Does The Wildos 2 slot live up to the original?

Thunderkick didn’t reinvent the wheel with The Wildos 2 slot, but they definitely gave it a fresh coat of outlaw grit. The core chaos of the original is still here, but now with more ways to wreak havoc: sticky wilds, bigger multipliers, and a Super Bonus that actually lives up to the name. Sure, some purists might grumble about the extra features compared to the more stripped-down original Wildos slot and that’s a fair criticism. Then again, with that 10,000x max multiplier, it may be worth dealing with a few additional bells and whistles. I give The Wildos 2 slot a respectable eight out of ten.
